ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
On behalf of the committee, I would like to welcome you to the 2nd hosting of the European Seating Symposium incorporating Assistive Technology.
Following on from the success of the European Seating Symposium in May 2007, we have put together an exciting and extensive programme for our 2nd symposium which is now being accommodated in the prestigious surroundings of Trinity College in the heart of Dublin city centre.
The new venue gives us the opportunity to expand the Symposium for speakers, delegates and exhibitors. This conference gives everyone working in the area of Assistive Technology, Seating and Mobility an opportunity to come together to share information and network with colleagues.
We are very privileged to have eminent speakers from all over the world attending and presenting at the symposium including:
• Dr Andre Du Plessis, Associate Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School, USA
• Dr Kay Ohlendieck, Chair of Biology, National University of Ireland, Maynooth, Ireland
• Dr Matt Ramer, Associate Professor, British Columbia Neurotrauma Fund Professor ICORD, Canada
• Bengt Engstrom, Director, Bengt Engstrom Seating, Sweden
• Leanne Ramer, Doctoral Trainee, Heart, Stroke Foundation of Canada
• Dr Damien McCormack, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Temple St Children’s Hospital, Ireland
• Dr Paul Kubic, Pulmonologist, Gilette Children’s Speciality Heathcare, St Pauls, USA
In order to provide the best training opportunity, our pre-symposium speakers include:

The symposium is an invaluable opportunity for Equipment users, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Engineers, Speech and Language therapists, Researchers, Technologists, Medical practioners and Scientists to gather together in Dublin during September 2009.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support in the past and I look forward to welcoming you to Dublin in September.
